The Brillance of Ingenuity

CFDRC achieves CMMI maturity level 2

Huntsville, Ala. | December 19, 2017 – CFD Research Corporation, a leading developer of cutting edge technologies and provider of innovative solutions to U.S. Federal Government agencies, announced today it has been appraised at Level 2 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration for Services (CMMI®-SVC). The appraisal was performed independently by The Process Group.

The CMMI-SVC model provides a comprehensive integrated set of guidelines for developing products and services that meet the specific needs of CFDRC’s customers. An appraisal at maturity level 2 indicates the organization is performing at a “managed” level. At this level, projects have ensured that processes are planned and executed in accordance with policy; the projects employ skilled people who have adequate resources to produce controlled outputs; involve relevant stakeholders; are monitored, controlled, and reviewed; and are evaluated for adherence to their process descriptions.

“CFDRC is proud to promote quality and instill a culture of continuous improvement through this CMMI appraisal,” said Sameer Singhal, CFDRC’s president and CEO. “Implementing CMMI has allowed us to increase our organizational efficiency and enhance the products and services we deliver to our customers. It is a testament to the quality of our people and their commitment to consistently deliver results for our customers as we work to achieve success together.”

CFDRC utilized assistance and mentorship from Raytheon as part of their DoD Mentor-Protégé agreement sponsored by the Missile Defense Agency. This assistance allowed Raytheon CMMI experts to work with the CFDRC implementation team to develop effective processes to improve project performance and ensure quality. CFDRC also holds ISO9001/AS9100 certifications.
