CFD Research Corporation (CFDRC) provides design and engineering services
for combustion applications. Combustion problems generally involve complicated
geometries, complex physics, heat transfer, and fluid flow. In such a
challenging environment, the benefits from CFD modeling cannot be overstated.
Since combustion systems are extremely costly to build and test, CFD
can be a valuable tool to assess different designs, perform parametric
studies and virtual prototype each design before actual fabrication.
CFDRC uses a variety of analysis tools. All have been fully validated for combustion
problems and have many features developed especially for combustor analysis,
including:
- Multi-step, reversible, stiff, finite-rate chemical kinetics for
a wide-range of fuels
- In-Situ Adaptive Tabulation (ISAT) schemes for efficient chemistry
computations
- Basic and extended mechanisms for NOx predictions
- Swirler boundary conditions
- Mass flow boundary conditions
- Detailed spray description options, and advanced atomization and
vaporization models
- Multimedia conjugate heat transfer
Capability includes one-day execution of two million cell, unstructured,
parallel steady state calculations using spray models and multi-step kinetics
on a cluster of 16 PCs. Full protection of your proprietary data is guaranteed.
