Design of Combustion Hardware

CFD Research Corporation (CFDRC) designs, fabricates, and tests combustors and combustor components. Examples include low-emission fuel injectors, microturbine combustors, and high performance gas turbine engine combustors.

Our combustion Engineers have experience in both modeling and testing combustion systems. The combustion staff has a combined 100 years of experience including over 40 years of experience at companies such as Pratt & Whitney and Honeywell.

In addition to using CFD for design and analysis, we also provide services for experimental testing, design modifications, performance analyses, retrofit studies, and development of combustion systems.

Demonstration of components designed and fabricated by CFDRC is done at selected test facilities throughout the world, such as, Energy Research Consultants at, U of CA Irvine, Georgia Tech, Woodward FST, Honeywell, General Electric, Rolls-Royce, NASA Glenn Research Center, and AFRL.

Additional information on low emission fuel injectors can be found on the Advanced Research Areas page.
