Blood Pumps

Several bloodflow pumps have been successfully characterized with technology developed by CFDRC engineers, including axial and centrifugal pumps. CFD analysis has been used to quantify stress and hemolysis (using the built-in hemolysis model) levels in several blood pumps. Shown to the right are example studies of a centrifugal and an axial blood flow pump. Multiple designs of blood flow pumps have been virtually prototyped for performance optimization.
