The Biomedical Branch of CFDRC in Huntsville, AL currently has an opening for a full-time Engineer with experience in hardware testing and engineering.
CFDRC is a market leader focused on developing diverse engineering solutions for multi-disciplinary applications. The Biomedical Technology branch of CFDRC is a rapidly growing group, actively involved in the development of hardware/software for biomedical systems and Lab-on-chip/BioMEMS applications.
Job Description: The selected candidate will join the Biomedical Technology Branch of CFDRC. The responsibilities will include:
Hardware assembly and setup, electrical/mechanical instrument calibration, fabrication of engineering parts using in-house facilities or external vendors.
Maintain orderly laboratory facilities, identify component vendors, compile and track purchase orders, monitor equipment status and inventory levels for supplies.
Perform clearly described tasks on selected experiments, maintaining accurate, daily records of experiments and results.
Job Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in electrical, mechanical, systems biomedical engineering, or related technical field or an Associates degree with no less than 2 years experience with hardware testing.
Prior experience and skill in performing general experimental operations and testing, including data acquisition hardware/software, familiarity with fabrication procedures and protocols, including commonly used CAD software such as AutoCAD and Inventor, is desired. Knowledge of microfabrication techniques, while not required, is a plus.
Strong communication skills required, ability to prepare summaries, graphs, and documents using MS Office.
