Coupled multiphysics simulations facilitate objective filtering of ideas in all development stages (concept -> design -> certification -> operation -> refurbishment) of products and systems. The most promising (filtered) approaches are then prototyped and tested, with excellent chance of success. Using this simulation-weighted approach, CFDRC has patented several designs and methods.

Furthermore, many new developments are undertaken for specific customers, and in those cases Intellectual Property (IP) is shared, as appropriate, between the customer and CFDRC. Competition-sensitive IP is not disclosed.
