CFD-ACE+ solves the scalar/vector potential version of Maxwell's equations
using a finite-volume formulation for the accurate prediction of the fields
and waves associated with electromagnetic phenomena. The salient features
of the electric and magnetic modules include:
- Time and frequency domain formulations
- Arbitrary specification of material properties
- Calculation of Maxwell stress tensor
Some of the most common uses of this module is:
- Electromagnetic fields of antennas
- Optical EM wave propagation, diffraction, scattering, etc.
- Electric fields due to time varying magnetic fields
- Eddy Currents
- Lorentz forces
- Induction heating
- Modeling of inductively coupled plasmas
The CFD-ACE+ Electromagnetics module has been validated and is coupled
with other CFD-ACE+ physical models to provide true multiphysics solutions
to very complex problems.
