CFD-FASTRAN provides solutions for many problems involving fluid-structure
interaction (FSI), especially for aeroelastic applications. The salient

- Three-dimensional finite-element analysis of structural dynamics using
CFD-FEMSTRESS
- Finite-element analysis of piezoelectric actuators for active structural
control
- Conservative and consistent interfacing between flow and structural
dynamic solutions
- Transfinite interpolation routine for grid deformation due to structure
flexibility
- Temporal synchronization of data transfer between the analysis modules
using MDICE
- Full user control of the simulation via GUI
This multidisciplinary analysis tool has been extensively validated on
aeroelastic problems of fighter aircraft, and has been successfully used
