CFD-FASTRAN employs an advanced general finite rate chemistry,
and thermal non-equilibrium capability. The salient features of the module
include:
- Two databases for thermodynamics, including curve fit database for
300K to 6000K, and spectroscopic database for thermal non-equilibrium
- A model for general finite rate reactions that handles an arbitrary
number of species and reactions
- Multiple energy modes that include thermal equilibrium and two-temperature
thermal non-equilibrium
- A surface chemistry model that allows fully catalytic or Sticking
Coefficient options
The CFD-FASTRAN thermo-chemistry module has been demonstrated
and used for a number of complex applications including high-speed
missiles, entry
vehicles and reusable launch vehicles applications.
