CFD-FASTRAN Turbulence Models

CFD-FASTRAN employs state-of-the-art turbulence models for predicting the effects of turbulence within boundary layers and within separation regions. The following turbulence models are currently available:
  • High Reynolds number k-e turbulence model (with wall functions)
  • Low Reynolds number k-w turbulence model*
  • Balwin-Lomax turbulence model
  • Spalart-Allmaras turbulence model
  • Menter Shear Stress Transport (SST) turbulence model*

The figure below shows flow predictions for a missile at high AOA using the k-e turbulence model

* These models are only available for unstructured meshes
