CFD Research Corporation Selected to Present at WBT Innovation Marketplace in San Diego

CFDRC among 130 companies and technologies seeking capital, acquisition or licensing partners during WBT 2012

Huntsville, AL – October 22, 2012 – CFD Research Corporation, (CFDRC), announced today it has been selected to present at the tenth annual WBT Innovation Marketplace presented by Northrup Grumman taking place October 24 – 26, 2012 at the San Diego Convention Center. CFDRC is among 130 companies and technology innovators that were chosen by the WBT Selection Committee. CFDRC will speak about its SynVivo and Bio-Battery technology platforms and discuss future plans for its technology to some of the country's leading venture capital firms and Fortune 1000 corporate licensees.

SynVivo is a cell-based microchip platform which provides a physiologically realistic microfluidic environment allowing the real-time study of cellular behavior and drug delivery. SynVivo recreates the complex in vivo vasculature including scale, morphology, fluidics and cellular interactions in an in vitro environment enabling basic and applied life sciences research. "We look forward to showcasing SynVivo and showing WBT attendees how SynVivo accelerates biotech drug development”, said Richard Thoms, Product Manager for SynVivo.

The Bio-Battery is an ultra-high energy density portable fuel cell which uses biological enzymes as catalysts as opposed to toxic and expensive rare-earth metals in traditional batteries. The Bio-Battery harvests energy from readily-available fuels such as sugars, alcohols, or even blood and converts them directly into electrical energy. “We are very excited to demonstrate the Bio-Battery technology, which represents the next revolution in renewable portable power”, says Sameer Singhal, Product Manager for the Bio-Battery technology.
