Keeping our soldiers healthy is big business in the Army. From preventative medicine and injury treatment to long term care, healthcare is one of the largest costs the military incurs. But one local company is looking to shake up the system and completely change the entire healthcare field and that change will likely begin with the military.

“We are working through our computational medicine and biology division; some of our scientists are working on computational modeling of the human body,” said Dr. Andrzej Przekwas, the Vice President of Research at CFD Research Corporation.

Modeling the human body is of course very complex. The scientists are actually creating numerous different models of the various systems within the body, cellular, vascular, metabolic, neurological just to name a few; and then combining them to create the virtual soldier, the ArmyTar.
