CFD Research Corporation specializes in engineering simulations and innovative designs for Aerospace, Cyber IA, Defense, Life Sciences, Materials, Energy, and other industries. Using our software and experimental facilities, we develop new hardware concepts, innovative designs, and prototypes. We have over 50 patents awarded or pending in the areas of biotechnology, combustion, propulsion, and materials.
CFD Research’s software and expertise pioneered coupled multiscale, multiphysics simulations of fluid, thermal, chemical, biological, electrical, and mechanical phenomena for real-world applications. Such simulations provide clearer insights into complex systems and thus enable Better Decisions and facilitate Better Products with lower risk, reduced cost, and less time.
CFD Research’s success stems from the Strong Synergy between:
CFD Research has grown steadily and profitably every year since its inception in 1987. We are a two-time winner (1996 and 2006) of the prestigious Tibbetts Award for innovation. CFD Research has also won the Army National Achievement Award twice (in 2008 and 2010) for excellence in the SBIR program, and we maintain an excellent (≥ 80%) DoD Commercialization Achievement Index (CAI) score. One of our significant commercialization success was the spin off of the CFD Research software products division along with 45 employees in 2004.
Presently, CFD Research has a highly qualified staff (55% PhDs) of over 90 employees, and active collaborations with numerous research organizations. We have been cited in the success stories of NASA, Navy, Air Force, DARPA, NIH and NSF; and are commended by industry partners for impacts made on their businesses. Our projects address challenging problems of national importance, e.g. Chem-Bio Protection, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Alternative Energy Sources, Low Emissions, Space Launch Systems and Missile Propulsion.
CFD Research, a minority-owned Small Business, remains Committed to Growth, by continuing to work closely with its customers in their quests of developing better products and safer systems. View Less
